About NPK

Every day we work with the children to instill a love for God, for themselves, for others—and a love and curiosity for learning. We believe that compassionate acceptance of themselves and others can make the most impact.

Our Mission

Nativity Preschool is a Christ-centered, developmentally appropriate learning environment. We nurture each child’s mental, social, spiritual, emotional, and physical needs. Our preschool provides children a safe haven in which they will develop the joy of learning and a sense of community. Nativity Preschool teaches that Jesus Christ is our Savior and Friend.

Our Staff

Shannon Cheek

I moved to Hendersonville in 2008 with my husband, Michael, who works with the NC Forest Service. We have two amazing kids, Taylor and Jackson and have two rescue dogs, Duke and Barley. My journey at Nativity began in the classroom and now I am excited to take on the role of Director. I have over 20 years in the classroom and 10 of those years were spent teaching Pre-Kindergarten, beginning a Transitional Kindergarten program and working with Toddler’s and Two’s.  I love Nativity and look forward to supporting our staff but more importantly the children and families at NPK!

Riannon McNeil

Assistant Director

This is my 12th year at Nativity. I started my career in Mortgage Banking for eight years but found my true love of working with children when my children started preschool at Nativity. My husband and I have two children ages 17 (Thad) and 14 (Mackenzie). We stay very busy traveling to our sons cross country and track meets and our daughter’s soccer games. We also have two dogs that keep us moving! I love to spend time outside with my family hiking, camping, biking and running.
