Classroom Philosophy

Welcome to Kindergarten! This is such an amazing time for children—it is a transition to becoming a “big” kid! In our classroom, we use each child’s natural curiosity and excitement to lay the groundwork for a love of learning and instill community engagement. Our Teachers

Maggie Anders

This is my third year teaching Kindergarten and my sixth year at NPK. I graduated from Western Carolina University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and I taught second grade for five years before my oldest child was born. I first came to NPK as a preschool parent and started teaching in the Busy Bee class two years later. My husband Justin and I have three children; Miles is 12, Liam is 9 and Ellie is 7. We have a sweet dog named Wilma who is a rescue beagle mix. I enjoy running, hiking, music, spending time with my family and exploring our beautiful mountains.

Katey Hallaran

This is Katey’s second year in Kindergarten and her fifth year at NPK. Katey has an Associates Degree in Education and has worked with all different ages at NPK. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, working in her garden, taking care of her chickens and playing with her sweet Border Collies, Harper and Heidi. Also in very exciting news, she and her fiance Brad are getting married in October!
